Quantum Spinal Biomechanics3
What is the QSM3 procedure?
The QSM3 (Quantum Spinal Mechanics 3) is an advanced method used to help improve neck and back issues. It's done manually and with great care, avoiding any sudden twisting or popping movements.
We use a special device to carefully measure how your body stands and moves. We look at details like the alignment of your spine, any differences in weight distribution between your left and right sides, and whether your shoulders or neck are tilted or twisted.
Once we've made the necessary adjustments, we check again to ensure your posture looks good and that your body is comfortable with the changes.
What makes QSM3 different than other upper cervical procedures?
Before QSM3 was developed, most upper cervical procedures centered on addressing a single bone misalignment in the neck. This approach, akin to adjusting one leg of a wobbly table, provided some relief for nerve issues and modest improvements in posture but fell short of achieving optimal alignment.
Our bodies possess a sophisticated system comprising muscles and bones that function together to maintain proper posture and movement. It's like having a team of skilled workers ensuring everything stays in place and moves smoothly. When our bodies encounter stress or injury, these workers adjust to protect us, sometimes causing muscles to tighten.
The upper part of the neck serves as a critical pathway for these adjustments. However, due to the intricate structure of the neck, focusing solely on one area can disrupt the coordination of the entire system.
Previously, upper cervical chiropractors relied on X-rays to determine the best course of action for treatment. With QSM3, however, the approach transcends singular bone alignment. Instead, it employs precise measurements to address the collective functioning of the musculoskeletal system.
In essence, QSM3 represents a refined method that considers the holistic functioning of the body, akin to having a skilled team leader orchestrating seamless coordination among all components, ensuring optimal health and functionality.
What is chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a holistic approach to healthcare that views the nervous system and spine as integral to overall well-being. It combines principles of natural health philosophy, scientific understanding of the nervous system and spine, and skilled techniques aimed at restoring health without the use of medication or surgery. Central to chiropractic philosophy is the recognition that all living systems possess innate intelligence and the capacity for self-regulation, self-renewal, and self-repair.
Chiropractic believes that optimal body function occurs when the nervous system operates without interference, which can lead to malfunctions, symptoms, diseases, and a decreased quality of life. It identifies three main types of interference: physical trauma, emotional stress, and exposure to environmental toxins. When physical trauma causes interference, it's referred to as a 'subluxation'.
Chiropractors correct subluxations, which enables your nervous system to function more effectively. This allows your body's innate ability to heal itself to kick in, promoting wellness and vitality throughout your life.
What is an Upper Cervical?
Upper cervical pertains to the region at the top of your neck, comprising the first bone (atlas) and the second bone (axis) that link your head and neck. Unlike other vertebrae in your spine, there's no disc between the atlas and axis, allowing for greater mobility.
The atlas and axis are held in position by muscles and ligaments. Within this space formed by the atlas and axis resides a vital structure known as the brainstem. This bundle of nerves plays a critical role in transmitting and processing signals from the brain to the rest of the body, governing essential bodily functions.
What do you expect from the correction?
The initial stage is known as the decompression phase. It occurs when the body encounters stress or injury, prompting it to adopt a protective posture.
In this phase, gravitational forces pose a challenge, especially when the body deviates from its optimal alignment. Gravity's downward pull, coupled with rotational forces, can compress and strain the spine.
Our primary objective during this stage is to alleviate spinal compression, restore proper posture, and realign the body to its balanced position, enhancing its ability to withstand gravitational forces
The subsequent stage is the stabilization phase. Despite achieving proper alignment, the body may struggle to maintain it. Prolonged adaptation to an improper posture can lead to muscle imbalance and instability. To counteract this, we implement targeted exercises and stretching routines to retrain and strengthen the supportive musculature.
Lastly, we enter the optimization phase. Here, optimal alignment accelerates the body's natural healing processes. We facilitate this healing by providing essential nutrients to support cellular rejuvenation. Through these measures, facilitated by the QSM3 procedure, the body achieves an elevated state of health, characterized by impeccable posture and accelerated healing.
